BACTERIAL EXPERIMENTS

Suspensions (approximately 300x106 bacteria/ 1 mL) prepared in FTS from 18 hour cultures of ATCC 25922 (E.Coli) strains according to McFarlan No: 1 were spread over a surface and treated with 1.5 g chlorine dioxide solution at different concentrations (1, 10, 50 and 250ppm). After waiting for 15 minutes, they were planted with a swab on MacConkeyager and Bloody agars.

As a control, seeding was performed directly from the bacterial spreading surface without treatment with chlorine dioxide.
